The Shelby is a higher performance variant of the Ford Mustang, which was built by Shelby American from 1965 to 1967, and Shelby Automotive from 1968 to 1970. Following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby nameplate was revived in 2007 for the new high performance versions of the Mustang.


For 1967, the GT 350 carried over the K-Code high performance 289 with a 'COBRA' aluminium hi-rise. The GT 500 was added to the line-up, equipped with the 428 Police Interceptor. These later cars carried over a few of the performance modifications of the 1965–66 GT350s, although they did feature more cosmetic changes.


The 1967 Shelby Cobra is featured in the 2000 film Gone In Sixty Seconds as 'Eleanor', the holy grail of Memphis Raines' car-jacking mission, and Kenichi Sonoda's Manga - Gunsmith Cats as the ride of main character Rally Vincent. In the sequel Gunsmith Cats Burst the car is blown up by a bomb, whereupon Rally replaces it with a Mustang II King Cobra rather than a Shelby.


Our Mustang was built in Metuchen on 21/03/1967. Once released it was delivered to the Ford Motor Company Figeso Dealer in Newark, New Jersey. It stayed in the States for a number of years before being shipping to South Africa where it was converted to RHD. In the early 1990’s the Mustang was shipped to the UK where we became the second owners

All new suspension with lowered springs adjustable strut rods, stiffen rear springs with upgraded anti rolls bars front and rear. Wilwood drilled and grooved discs up front with drums on rear with power brake booster.

Ford 1967 Shelby Magstar Wheel 15x7 with Uniroyle tyres 235/60/15 on the front and 255/60/15’s on the rear.

Engine 347 Stroker with forged internals edelbrock alloy performer heads performer manifold with 650 4 barrel edelbrock carb. Shelby Valve covers with cobra air cleaner. External racing oil cooler kit. Hooker headers with custom 2.5” stainless still exhaust system. Trans C6 with shift kit and external oil cooler with 8” axle with Ford Billet Steel Trac-Lock Posi Unit with 3.80 ratio.

Full custom interior with cream leather seats black piping ‘GT500’ embroidery 3 point harnesses, custom ICE install with I pod/phone connection, custom centre console with B & M bandit shifter and all new autometer gauges with full new wiring loom.
